Each year, thousands of FastPass users come and go… with thousands more applying for a FastPass. After all, with such benefits available to the holder, how can anyone resist the idea of owning a fast pass? But with such a large park like Disney with its dozens of thousands of visitors, one can’t help but wonder. How many Fast Passes per day at Disney World are only allowed?

What is a FastPass?

A FastPass would let any holder have the ability to skip through the lines… and be able to board any selected ride early. Besides, they will also be able to gain more benefits in the form of added entertainment, character greetings and the like. And over the years, more and more adjustments and changes were made to the Fastpass system that makes it even more of a worthy investment. That includes how many FastPasses per day at Disney World are allowed. Also, additions include the recently-implemented MaxPass. This is so far, only enables one to expand their functionality when it comes to taking photos around the park.

But despite the benefits and the other added features that FastPasses provide… there is a certain limit on how many times you can use a Fastpass daily. Now, the idea of putting a limit into a FastPass can be a bit of a bummer at first. But there are a lot of reasons why limits on FastPasses are there in the first place.

How many FastPasses per day at Disney World?

One of the more obvious limits that you can expect when using a Fastpass is that you can only use them a few number of times each day. The maximum amount of times you can use a Fastpass is three times per day. The limit resets each day, so you don’t have to worry when the pass hits its limit. You can do it all over again when you visit Disney Orlando the next day.

How the daily limit works are that you only use them three times a day. When you redeem your FastPass+, you’ll be able to make extra selections on the same day. This process can be done at any FastPass kiosk located throughout the park:

Why put limits?

Now you ask yourself, “What’s with the limitations?” How many FastPasses per day at Disney World? If you’re ever going about how to plan a day at Disney World and get yourself a FastPass… the 3 rides a day limit can put some of your plans through some tough hurdles. This will probably make some changes in your plans more than once. But what is the main function of only allowing limits? Well, it’s not just for business purposes but also to control how many individuals can use the FastPass functions.

Just imagine if all FastPass users were able to choose rides without limitations. It would create a lot of even more foot traffic as all tides would be crammed to the brim with reservations from FastPass ticket holders. And if you factor in how many people go to Disney World a day, and a percentage of the visitors owning Fastpasses, it can become pretty chaotic.

And when you also consider how many Disney Worlds are there worldwide…

There are tens of thousands of FastPass holders all over the world who would use their FastPass in any chance they get. The limits on how many FastPasses per day at Disney World not only keep the number of reservations in check. It can also make it easier for Disney to keep track without being too overwhelmed. And lastly, when you look at how big is Disney worldthere’s a LOT of rides and attractions the FastPass can only cover so much. Especially with Disney World’s change and growth over the years.

But despite the limitations, the benefits are more than worth their price. While the price changes depending on the season, they’re definitely worth the extra fee. Particularly if you plan on visiting Disney World on a frequent basis.

What benefits do these FastPasses provide?

Despite how many FastPasses per day at Disney World guests can make… there are some Disney FastPass secrets that definitely shows that FastPasses are a lot more useful despite the limitations. As stated above, you can make further additional reservations even after the three reservations are up. And you can continue to do so until closing time.

Once you make your reservation, you only have an hour to use the reservation. You may be asking yourself, “What time can I make fastpass+ reservations?” For example, when you want to make a reservation for 12:00 noon, you should make a reservation an hour before that. So make reservations at around 11:00 to 12:00. And while this can be pretty helpful, it’s not without its ups and downs.

The good news is that…

This method will greatly reduce the waiting time for a lot of FastPass holders. This means less hassle and less stressful. That guest would almost immediately get on the ride without having to encounter any sort of waiting lines. So for example, if you’re nearing the front of a particular ride and your reservation time starts… then it’s all smooth sailing from there. You’ll have plenty of time within only an hour time window.

On the other hand, it can also get very problematic especially when the ride or a show ends. When a show or a ride ends, some rides are right next to or nearby other rides. For example, the Fantastic fireworks show is very near the Tower of Terror attraction. If you were to make reservations to both venues, it would take a bit more time for you to get the next attraction. Fortunately, with FastPasses the wait times aren’t that long when it happens.

Tips to make the best use of your FastPass despite the limitations

Despite how many FastPasses per day at Disney World are only allowed, there are still some hacks in maximizing your usage. As you use your FastPass for the day using the standard limitations set by Disney, here are some good tips on how to make the most out of it:

  1. Don’t bother using FastPass if the standby queue is more than 25 minutes.

FastPasses are meant to make waiting for lines shorter. So a standby waiting time for FastPass users renders smoothly if it’s just as long as the non-FastPass users.

  1. The distribution of FastPasses for popular rides and attractions can run out.

This frequently happens during peak hours.

  1. FastPasses are only valid on the date of issue.

  2. If you want to return your FastPass, do so within the one-hour window.

But in the event of a ride breaking down, hold onto your FastPass. This is because the park will honor it at any time before that day if the ride opens.

  1. When you first get your FastPass for yourself and for other members of your party.

Make sure that they have also received FastPasses, too.

  1. Some rides that support FastPass have Single Rider lines.

These are short and do not have any restrictions on the time. Only use these lanes if you’re either traveling by yourself or if your party doesn’t mind going individually. Do note that if this lane gets too long, the lane will be temporarily closed.

  1. Here’s a neat little trick on how to get extra fast passes at Disney World.

Example, say that you have already made your decision and chose three rides to use your FastPass on. Once the three selections have been made, you can then visit the nearest FastPass kiosk to add the fourth reservation for that day. And once the 4th has been used up, you can get a 5th, you can keep on doing so until the time runs out on your day.

Conclusion

FastPasses are and have always been a great way to manage your time spent in Disney World. Aside from the standard benefits like entertainment and the like… the main draw of FastPasses has always been about the ability to bypass waiting for lines in order to board the ride quicker. Yet, how many FastPasses per day at Disney World put into place may sound like that your choices of rides are very limited. But in reality, they can prove to be very beneficial for you. Especially if you plan on visiting Disney World for more than one day.
